“2015 was a great year for Chanel Oberlin and her 752 Instagram fans.
Starting in early October, fans of Chanel would receive a
Jack-O-Lantern emoji on their socials. 🎃
From one Chanel Oberlin.
Parcels began to appear on their doorsteps
in what became tenderly known as ‘Chanel-O-Ween’.”
When Scream Queens premiered last September, I immediately knew that Chanel Oberlin was mom/my new spirit animal. Take away the pastel prettiness, witty one-liners, and a handful of satire, Scream Queens hit the nail on the head when it came to empowering women. A group of Kappa Kappa Tau sisters decked out in designer duds are nowhere near being the typical damsels in distress. They became the heroes of their own stories and that’s exactly what I think feminism is all about. In a world of girl drama, fights and bullying, this new series shows exactly what girls should be doing, lifting each other up, not tearing each other down. It’s called girl power for a reason and why are we not using this power to help other girls?
In the spirit of Halloween, here’s a taste of some cotton candy, bubblegum-y goodness with a touch of sharp, blood-curdling screams from none other than the next Chanel #7 (aka me).
Disclaimer: pls don’t kill ppl it’s not good ok. don’t be a literal chanel. channel chanel and a bit of grace and zayday instead.
